In celebrating the Month of Photography, Access Gallery is pleased to present “Another Pointe of View,” a photographic exploration of ballet from sight impaired students. This show culminates an eight week residency program in conjunction with Colorado Ballet. Lead artists, Rachel Gomez and Chris James, worked with two mediums not typically associated with blind students – dance and photography. The results are amazing!
The students received an introduction to the camera and were able to explore Colorado Ballet from top to bottom. They were able to photograph the studios, the costume shop and even behind the scenes at the Ballet. Each student was also able to attend an audio described performance of the Colorado Ballet’s Ballet Masterworks and a behind the scenes tactile tour.
On March 20, the gallery will host a Meet the Artists Reception at the VSA Access Gallery, 909 Santa Fe Drive, Denver, CO 80204. For more information, visit www.accessgallery.org.
