These volunteers provide assistance to the dancers for costume changes. Volunteers are required during performances and some rehearsals, so the time commitment varies. Training will take 2-3 hours. This position requires a person who can work quickly under pressure.
These volunteers will work both in the shop and the theater completing sewing projects as needed, some with a very quick turnaround time. Volunteers are required during performances and some rehearsals, so the time commitment varies. Training will take 2-3 hours. Volunteers must have basic sewing skills, be familiar with sewing machines and also be able to hand sew.
These volunteers provide customer care in Colorado Ballet's Boutique before and after performances and during intermissions. They provide help to the Boutique Manager and/or Assistant in stocking shelves, demonstrating merchandise and assisting shoppers with purchases. Time commitment encompasses the duration of the performance and an additional 1 hour to 1½ hours before and after the performance. Training takes approximately 1 hour. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys interacting with the public, especially children.
Will Call Assistant
Volunteers will distribute tickets being held at Will Call to patrons before each performance. Shifts begin 2 hours prior to performance time. Training will take approximately 30 minutes. This position is ideal for someone with good customer service skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure. It is also advised that the volunteer has basic keyboard skills. A volunteer has to be able to stand for the bulk of the shift and be able to vocally project through glass. It is suggested that the volunteers wear layers of clothing as the ticket office is usually cold. Volunteers must pay for their own parking, but may be offered a ticket to watch the performance. Available shifts are open for all Colorado Ballet performances at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House.
Volunteers will organize and enter constituent information into the Tessitura database. They will also process address corrections and make other changes to existing constituent data. Available shifts are any day, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. This position is needed year-round, with increased volume in October, November, December, and January. Training will take approximately 1 day. This position is ideal for anyone who is detail oriented and has good organizational skills. The ideal volunteer would have a familiarity with Colorado Ballet’s productions.
Ticketing Phone Sales
Volunteers in this position will take inbound phone calls from current and potential ticket sales and subscriptions. They will answer questions about renewals, donations, Academy inquiries as well as direct calls to the proper staff member. Shifts are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. Volunteers are needed for telephone work year-round, with a heavier workload October through December and February through March. Approximately 2 days of training is required. This position is best suited to volunteers who enjoy personal contact, have good telephone skills, and can make judgment calls about customer interests. The ideal volunteer would have a familiarity with Colorado Ballet’s productions and ballet.
Volunteers in this position will organize and update donor files. This is an ongoing position with a monthly time commitment of 2-4 hours. Training lasts approximately 30 minutes. This position requires good organizational and clerical skills.
Community Liaison Volunteers deliver marketing materials, seek in-kind donations and work on partner events. The need for volunteers is ongoing, but time commitment varies, depending on events scheduled. Training will take 1-2 hours. Volunteers in this position will need a vehicle (80% of time requires local metro travel) and should possess good communication skills. Spanish proficiency is a plus (interaction is primarily with Spanish-speaking populations).
