Beth-Marie Miller-Bicknell is a Colorado native who has lived around the world but keeps returning to her roots. She has loved dancing since she was a child but did not begin teaching dance until 2011. Living in East Africa, she missed the social dances she had learned in the U.S. and decided to teach ballroom and swing to adults and children. Helping others discover the joy of dance inspired a love for teaching. Since then, Beth-Marie has taught at recreation centers, professional studios, public schools, and community centers. She has danced with Denver’s Diamond Dolls, performed extensively at the Mercury Café, and taught and performed with Iluminar Aerial and Ibuka Dance Foundation. She loves any type of dance she can get her feet on, but her favorite is the dynamic Lindy Hop.
With a Master’s degree in Social Work and a background in early childhood education, Beth-Marie is thrilled to be working with the Leap N Learn curriculum, which introduces dance and movement skills through age-appropriate methods, sensitive to the environment and needs of each group of students. She sees dance as a language that supersedes words, connects people across divides, and brings personal and collective healing and joy.
