Colorado Ballet Ticketing and Theater Policies

Our goal is to make your purchasing experience easy, efficient and equitable, so we can get you to the ballet as quickly as possible. The following is designed to ensure your satisfaction and understanding of the purchase process through Colorado Ballet and its partner sites. If you have any questions, please contact us. Your purchases on our site are subject to these terms. 

Currency:

All ticket prices for events are stated in U.S. Dollars.

Payment Methods:

Colorado Ballet accepts several methods of payment. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and Colorado Ballet Gift Certificates. Cash and checks are accepted at the Colorado Ballet Box Office, which opens two hours before each performance. 

Third Party Vendors:

Colorado Ballet sells tickets on its website, www.coloradoballet.org and through our partners at Altitude Tickets (formerly known as TicketHorse), www.altitudetickets.com. Occasionally, we will also sell tickets to select performances through Travelzoo, Groupon, or Goldstar.  Colorado Ballet does not partner with or endorse other ticketing services and we cannot guarantee the quality of ticketing services through other ticketing vendors. Because we do not guarantee the authenticity of tickets purchased from any non-authorized third party vendor (such as brokers or individuals), we recommend that you purchase tickets directly through us or from our authorized partners. 

Colorado Ballet cannot re-print or refund tickets obtained from unauthorized sources. If bought through an unauthorized seller, tickets may be stolen or counterfeit, and if so, are void.

Pricing and Availability

Tickets are sold through several distribution points, including online, phone center, and box office. Most distribution points generally access the same ticketing system and inventory. Based on availability, ticket prices and availability may change for events and may not be reflected on seating maps.

Order Confirmation

If you do not receive a confirmation number (in the form of a confirmation page or email) after submitting payment information, or if you experience an error message or service interruption after submitting payment information, it is your responsibility to confirm whether or not your order has been placed by calling Colorado Ballet ticketing. Only you are aware of any problems that may occur during the purchase process. We will not be responsible for losses (monetary or otherwise) if the assumption is made that an order was not placed because the order confirmation was not received. If you are unsure if an order was placed, please contact Colorado Ballet Box Office at 303.339.1637, before re-purchasing as no refund will be given.

Number of Tickets or "Ticket Limits"

When purchasing tickets on our site, you are limited to 10 tickets for each production (also known as a "ticket limit"). This ticket limit is posted during the purchase process and is verified with every transaction. This policy is in effect to discourage unfair ticket buying practices. We reserve the right to cancel any or all orders and tickets without notice to you if the posted limits are exceeded. This includes orders associated with the same name, e-mail address, billing address, credit card number or other information. Companies and groups requesting 10 or more tickets should contact Colorado Ballet’s Group Sales Manager.

Canceled and Rescheduled Events

Occasionally, ballet performances are canceled or postponed, usually because of weather. Should this occur, we will attempt to contact you to inform you of refund or exchange procedures for that event. 

Colorado Ballet performances are canceled if the City of Denver officially closes due to weather.  Otherwise, performances will occur, rain, snow or shine.  If you are unable to make a performance because of road closures due to weather, please contact the ticketing office as soon as possible and a representative will re-schedule for another event.

Refunds and Exchanges

Before purchasing tickets, carefully review your event date and time, and seat selection. Colorado Ballet does not provide refunds after a ticket has been purchased or if tickets are lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed. A $10 per ticket exchange fee is applied to all orders, unless D Seating is purchased, in which case a $10 fee will be applied to the entire order. One exchange per person, per event is allowed. Most tickets bought online are exchangeable within 24 hours of the purchase with no fee.

Colorado Ballet reserves the right to offer tickets at a discount after the original on-sale date. In these instances, we will not refund the difference between the original price and the sale price. Please note that tickets purchased for a commercial purpose or in any other way in violation of our policies will not be exchanged or refunded. You agree that you will not attempt to evade, avoid, or circumvent any refund prohibitions in any manner with regard to tickets you purchased. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, you will not contact us to seek a refund or exchange from us and you will not dispute or otherwise seek a "chargeback" from the credit card company used to purchase tickets from the site. Should you do so, your tickets may be canceled, and we may, in our sole discretion, refuse to honor pending and future ticket purchases made from all credit card accounts or online accounts on which such chargebacks have been made.

If we issue you a refund for a ticket due to a canceled or postponed event, the refund will be in the amount of the ticket face value paid (or, for a discounted ticket, the discounted ticket price paid). If a refund is issued, it will be issued using the same method of payment that was used to purchase the tickets. We will not be liable for travel or any other expenses that you or anyone else incurs in connection with a canceled or postponed event.

If a ticket was purchased through a third-party site, the patron must contact the third party as the ticket can only be refunded to the same payment or credit card used to originally purchase the tickets.

Delivery Options

Different combinations of delivery methods may be offered, depending on factors that include the venue where the event is to be held, how much time is left before the performance date, whether it is a holiday season and the nature of the demand for the event. Please carefully review the list of delivery methods offered during the purchase process.

Generally, some of the following delivery methods may be offered: 

  • Mail for Free - (no charge) - for all performances until 1 month before production start date. Standard mail may be changed to Will Call if time is not sufficient (less than 5 days). 
  • Mail - $5 Per Ticket - less than 1 month before first performance date. Standard mail may be changed to Will Call if time is not sufficient (less than 5 days).
  • Print-at-Home - available 1 month before first performance date. 
  • Will Call - $5 per ticket – available for all performances. Must present ID at time of pick-up.

Performance Information

For performances at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House:  Outside doors open to the lobby one hour before curtain and doors into the theater open 30 minutes before curtain.  The Ellie Caulkins Opera House Will-Call and box office is open two hours prior to the start of each performance. Please stop by before the performance if you have not yet received your tickets. Simply bring your ID and order number with you and we will reprint your tickets.

For performances at the June Swaner Gates Concert Hall at the Newman Center for the Performing Arts: Outside doors open to the lobby one hour before curtain and doors into the theater open 30 minutes before curtain. The Newman Center will call and box office is open one hour prior to the start of each performance. Please stop by before the performance if you have not yet received your tickets. Simply bring your ID and order number with you and they will reprint your tickets.

Seating Policies

Please be aware that there is no assigned late seating. Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of house management, but may be required to wait in the lobby until intermission. Television monitors display the performance and are located in the lobby. All patrons (all ages) attending Colorado Ballet performance require a ticket. Lap seating is not permitted.

Ballet Attire

Most people feel comfortable in business casual attire when going to the ballet, however, some do dress in more formal attire on opening night and Friday and Saturday evening performances. If the event is a special occasion, you are certainly encouraged to make the most of your outing.

Talking and mobile devices

During performances, please be respectful to other patrons and the performers.  Please silence your cell phones, refrain from texting, and turn off tablets and other mobile devices.  Also, please do not talk during the performance.  The light from your mobile device and talking may distract other patrons and the performers.  If you need to answer your phone, please exit the theater to the lobby. Cameras and/or recording devices are not allowed during performances. You are welcome to take photos in the lobby or theater before the performance, during intermission and after the performance.  However, you cannot take photos during the performance.  Please enjoy performance photos posted on our Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest pages.

Limitation of Liability

Patrons voluntarily assume all risks and danger incidental to the event for which the ticket is issued, whether occurring before, during or after the event, and you waive any claims for personal injury or death against us, management, facilities, leagues, artists, other participants, and all of our respective parents, affiliated entities, agents, officers, directors, owners and employees on behalf of yourself and any accompanying minor. You bear all risks of inclement weather. 

License - Ejection and Cancellation - No Redemption Value

Colorado Ballet reserves the right, without refund of any amount paid, to refuse admission to, or eject, any patron whose conduct management deems disorderly, who uses vulgar or abusive language or who fails to comply with Colorado Ballet rules. 

Prohibited Items and Subject to Search 

All bags and persons entering venue are subject to search. Denver Performing Arts Complex management reserves the right to refuse any item deemed a potential safety or security risk or with the potential to be a distraction to the event being held. Prohibited items include: 
  • ALL OUTSIDE FOOD AND BEVERAGES (exceptions: factory-sealed water bottles and Limelight beverages in plastic cups with lids)
  • Marijuana and drugs without a prescription
  • Laser pointers (will be confiscated and patron subject to ejection)
  • Coolers (hard sided and soft sided)
  • Audio or video recording devices, GoPros, professional cameras or cameras with removable lenses
  • Weapons or items construed as weapons (e.g. guns, knives, chains)
  • Bullhorns or noisemakers
  • Commercial signage
  • Animals (except service animals)
  • Bicycles, skateboards, inline skates, scooters and hoverboards
  • Remote control flying devices or UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles)
  • Bags and backpacks larger than 12” x 17” x 12” (must fit under your designated seat)
