TEACHING ARTIST
Cami Lyons, MA, is a licensed Colorado educator, dance instructor, and spirit director with over two decades of movement experience and eight years of professional classroom teaching. Her dance journey began at age three, evolving into a lifelong dedication to technical movement, performance, and youth mentorship. During her undergraduate studies, she began instructing diverse dance disciplines across regional recreational and performance-based community programs.
As an educational leader, Cami holds a Master of Arts in Human Development and Education from the University of Colorado Denver, specializing in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education (CLDE). Her graduate coursework and pedagogical training focus on child development milestones, differentiated instruction, and culturally responsive teaching. Cami is also the founder and Spirit Director of a 6–12 campus spirit program, which she built from the ground up—establishing foundational safety protocols, defining core values, and choreographing for and coaching a diverse roster of over 25 student-athletes across middle and high school cheer and dance teams.
A passionate advocate for equity in the arts, Cami leverages her certified pedagogical expertise and creative background to foster safe, inclusive, and collaborative learning environments. Her teaching philosophy centers on child-centered movement, physical coordination, and empowering student confidence across all skill levels and backgrounds. Cami actively serves Denver-area youth through dance education, custom choreography, spirit coaching, and community movement initiatives that promote wellness, creativity, and accessible arts education.
