Cruz Vining was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. At eight years old, he began his classical training at Master Ballet Academy under the tutelage of Slawomir and Irena Wozniak. During his years of training, Mr. Vining competed at the Youth America Grand Prix and was invited to compete in the final round. At the 2022 and 2023 finals, Cruz was awarded first place in the Pas de duex category. In 2023, he was invited to compete at the prestigious USA International Ballet Competition in Jackson, Mississippi. Later that year, Cruz began his professional career with the Colorado Ballet as a member of the corps de ballet.
