Emelia Perkins began her training with the Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre, until 2015, when she moved to Houston Ballet Academy to further her training. From there, she joined the second company of Kansas City Ballet in 2017 and the Studio Company of the Sarasota Ballet in 2018, where she was ultimately promoted to Coryphee in 2022.

During her seven year career with the Sarasota Ballet, Emelia performed notable roles such as George Balanchine’s Russian Girl in Serenade, Stairway to Paradise principal in Who Cares?, Emeralds Pas de Trois, Divertimento No. 15 Principal, Theme and Variations Demi, Four Temperaments Melancholic Demi, Stomper in Twyla Tharp’s In the Upper Room and Domani in Sinatra Songs, Bride in Martha Graham’s Appalachian SpringAnother You in Paul Taylor’s Company B and Brandenburgs, Sir Frederick Ashton’s Les Patineurs as a Blue Girl, Birthday OfferingLe Chatte Metamorphose en FemmeWedding Bouquetas the Bride, Johan Kobborg’s Napoli, and the pas de trois in Sir Kenneth MacMillan’s Danses Concertantes. Emelia was also featured in new works by other notable choreographers including Jessica Lang, Sir David Bintely, Genna Bond, and Ricardo Graziano.
