EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR

Katherine is a former intern of Colorado Ballet and she is delighted to return to the ballet as the Education and Community Engagement Coordinator.  She hails from Louisiana where she began her dance training in ballet, tap, and jazz at the age of three. Katherine holds a Bachelor of Science in dance management with a minor in history from Oklahoma City University. While in Oklahoma, she danced multiple seasons with the American Spirit Dance Company. She also holds a Master of Arts in cultural policy and arts management from University College Dublin in Ireland. Her time abroad strengthened her understanding of the global arts community and she incorporates this knowledge into her practice at Colorado Ballet. While writing her thesis, Dance & Disability: an art form about the body for every body, she conducted extensive research about the facilitation of dance programming for diverse populations.

Working with various dance-centric organizations such as Colorado Ballet, American Dance Festival, and Irish Modern Dance Theatre has enhanced her understanding of the impact cultural organizations make in their communities. She proudly served as the production director for the 2021 Dancer from the Dance Festival of Irish Choreography.
At Colorado Ballet, Katherine finds herself at the intersection of dance education and arts management and she is excited to be part of a team that is bringing dance to the communities of Colorado.
