Krista Mortensen
Donor Stewardship Programs Coordinator
Krista supports donor stewardship, the Auxiliary, and the Sugarplum Program, acting as the bridge between these longstanding groups of dedicated volunteers and the Colorado Ballet staff and connecting them with opportunities to deepen their relationship with the Ballet. Krista is a Colorado native and lifelong lover of the performing arts – she is a double bassist by training, a vocalist by hobby, and a Blue Knights Color Guard alumna.
She received her bachelor’s degree in Fundraising and Promotional Strategy from Metropolitan State University of Denver and has spent a decade working in the Colorado nonprofit space, working in all parts of development at organizations like Wings Over the Rockies, Invest in Kids, and Thorne Nature Experience, often specializing in event execution, institutional giving, and relationship building. As an active member of the nonprofit community, Krista has also served on several Young Professional Boards including Special Olympics Colorado and the Colorado Symphony.
A champion of equity and accessibility, she is passionate about connecting people to art, music, and dance regardless of their background or the systems they grew up in. Outside of work, you can find her reading, enjoying live music, or exploring Colorado’s beautiful open space with her dog, Rambo.
