Pre-Professional Program Frequently Asked Questions

What is the maximum number of students invited to join the program?

30 students total. 

What is the maximum number of students in each class? 

An average of 15 students per class. 

What is the total annual cost of the program? 

$7,500 for the school year, this includes 27 hours per week of class time in addition to Winter and Spring performances, regional performance events and multiple performances in our Black Box theater throughout the year. Additional costs include costumes, housing, meals and transportation.

Are Pre Professional Division students invited to join the Studio Company?

Yes, the 2015/16 program promoted 2 students into the Studio Company for the 16/17 year. Company Artistic Director, Gil Boggs, keeps an eye on the talent in the Pre-Professional Division and the development of these students. 

How are students chosen for the Pre professional Division?

We look at the whole individual with regard to previous classical ballet training, coachability, physical attributes, strength, focus and potential for a successful career in ballet. Students may audition online through, at our Summer Intensive or at an audition site listed on our website. Student to may also be allowed to audition with current students during the school year.

When can students join the Division?

At the start of each semester beginning September or January.
