Academy Auditions

Academy student auditions for 15/16 season

More details will be coming soon.  Students will have the opportunity to audition for roles in The Nutcracker and Alice (in Wonderland).  To audition for either of these productions, you must be a Colorado Ballet Academy student registered for the 2015-2016 year.  Click here to register for the 2015-2016 session.


Audition fees are $25
Nutcracker participation cost is $125
Alice participation cost is $125

Auditions for Academy student roles in Colorado Ballet's 55th annual production of The Nutcracker will take place from 12-5 p.m. on September 13 with rehearsals held Saturday afternoons.  The roles are for students heights 4’-5’5" and students ages 8 and up.  Performances run November 28-December 27.

Angels & Sugarplum Attendants, Height requirement - 4'-4' 6"
Party Scene & Polichinelles, Height requirement - 4'2"-5'2"
Battle Scene, Height requirement - 4'11"-5'5" 
 Must be in Level 5 or up to audition for Battle

Please note:

  • Colorado Ballet will take measurements of each student as they register. Students must meet age and height requirements for the role/roles in which they are auditioning.
  • The Academy will post audition results at the Academy, as well as send results via email. The cast rotation will be provided at the parent meeting - date TBD.
  • Students must accept all or none of the roles they are offered and must be available for ALL scheduled rehearsals as well as full day rehearsals and rehearsals at the theater - dates TBD. Students must be also available for all performance dates starting on November 28 for opening weekend.

Auditions for Academy student roles in Colorado Ballet's production of Alice (in Wonderland) will take place from 12-5 p.m. on October 18.  Rehearsals will be held during the first two weeks of January 2016 and on Saturdays in January and February 2016.  Students must be available for dress rehearsals during Tech Week (starting February 16) including student matinee during the day on February 18 and ALL performances:

Friday, February 19, 2016 - 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, February 20, 2016 - 2 p.m.
Saturday, February 20, 2016 - 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, February 21, 2016 - 2 p.m.
Friday, February 26, 2016 - 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, February 27, 2016 - 2 p.m.
Saturday, February 27, 2016 - 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, February 28, 2016 - 2 p.m.
