Audio Description is a live narration service that provides key details about the visual elements of the performance. 

  • Who it’s for: Blind, low-vision, or anyone who would benefit from added visual context 
    Availability: Select performances for each production 
    Cost: Free headset rental

Requesting AD for Other Dates: Audio description may be requested for non-listed performances with at least two weeks’ advance notice. 

Headset Pickup: Available at the coat check, located on the left side of the Ellie Caulkins Opera House lobby, before the performance.

Assisted Listening Devices

DETAILS

The Ellie Caulkins Opera House offers a ListenTech assistive listening system to support guests experiencing hearing loss. 

How to Access:  

  • Visit the coat check to borrow a receiver. Staff are available to help you set up and use the equipment. 

  • Receivers include an adjustable volume control 

  • If You Do Not Use Telecoils: Check out a receiver with headphones, or bring your own wired headphones (3.5 mm jack compatible). 

  • If You Use Telecoils (T-Coils): Check out a receiver with a neckloop attachment, and switch your hearing aid or cochlear implant to the “T” or Telecoil setting to connect.

The Ellie Caulkins Opera House provides designated wheelchair-accessible and companion seating throughout the venue. 

  • Availability: Released at the same time as general ticket sales 

  • Sections: Accessible seating is available in every section 

  • Booking: Tickets are offered on a first-come, first-served basis

Patrons may request options such as wobble stools in a box, wobble cushions for chairs, and/or space for people in your party to stand or move around. Request seats via the form linked below, and a member of our patron services team will contact you for payment. Alternative seating options are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. coloradoballet.org is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. Colorado Ballet is currently taking steps to improve web accessibility and become more conformant with WCAG 2.1.
