Colorado Ballet Academy welcomes you to join our Adult Dance Program!
CBA’s Adult Dance Program is open to the public. You do not need to be a student or affiliate of Colorado Ballet to participate. Classes are co-ed and are open to students 18 years or older. Younger students will be allowed to attend class on a case-by-case basis. We welcome all interested people to participate in the Adult Dance Program at CBA.
From Absolute Beginner to Intermediate levels, students build strong technical foundations of ballet through clear instruction in vocabulary, alignment, and coordination.
High-energy classes blend classic jazz techniques with iconic Broadway choreography, offering a fun and supportive environment for students.
Explore the foundations of modern and contemporary dance through a class focused on grounded movement, musicality, dynamics, and individual expression. Drawing from classical modern techniques, students will develop strength, coordination, flexibility, and body awareness while exploring concepts of weight, space, momentum, and flow. Class may include technical exercises, floorwork, and phrase work designed to encourage both physical and artistic exploration.
This adult mat Pilates class is open to all levels and focuses on core strength, flexibility, balance, and body awareness through low-impact movement. Emphasis is placed on proper alignment, breath, and controlled movement in a supportive and welcoming environment.
Adult Performance classes are designed for beginning/intermediate adult dancers with prior ballet experience who are interested in learning and performing choreography during the Fall and Spring semesters. Regular attendance is expected, and students are encouraged to attend the technique class held immediately before rehearsal.
Experience Colorado Ballet’s 2026–2027 season firsthand as adult students train with artistic leaders, company members, and CBA faculty while learning production repertoire. Participants will explore the history, technique, and artistry behind the performances and receive a 20% discount on two tickets to the corresponding production.

We do not offer free classes, but recommend you take a class at the drop-in rate of $25 to determine if it will be a good fit for you.
Adult classes are self-leveled. We recommend reading the class descriptions on our website to get a better idea of the material covered in each class. If you take a class and feel it is not an appropriate level, you are welcome to move up or down according to your comfort level. All classes can be taken on a drop-in basis and we encourage you to try different classes and instructors to find one that suits you.
Adults are encouraged to wear whatever they feel comfortable moving in. Leotards and tights are often chosen, but Adults are welcome to wear their favorite workout attire that covers the torso and legs.
Ballet shoes are recommended instead of socks for their added traction on the Marley dance floor. Rosin is not allowed at Colorado Ballet’s studios. CBA does not sell ballet shoes. These may be purchased at several dance stores in Denver and surrounding areas.
The 5 and the 10 punch cards have an expiration date of 90 days after the date of purchase. Refunds, transfers, or credits will not be given for unused punches.
Yes! As long as your card has not expired, you may use your punch card for any Adult Dance Class during the entire year.
The main entrance for the building is on the west side through the parking lot off of 11th Ave. Once you arrive you must visit the front desk to sign in. The studio assignments will be given upon check in. Please note that studios may change at any given time due to Company and Academy scheduling.
If you have a punch-card, plan on arriving 5-10 minutes before the class to check in at the front desk and receive your studio assignment.
If you did not pre-register online, please arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time of class. We must complete registration for you at the front desk and receive payment before you can enter class.
Both! Paying online saves time and will get you into the studio faster. If you are unable to complete your purchase online, please allow time before class begins to register before entering class. Upon completion of payment, you will receive two online waivers that will need to be completed before your first class.
Unfortunately, we do not have public parking in our lot. Our parking lot is reserved for company and staff members from 9:00am – 6:00pm, Monday through Saturday. There are two visitor spots open for anyone to use. We encourage you to find parking along any of the streets surrounding Colorado Ballet, but keep an eye on the signs for parking limitations and restrictions.
For general safety reasons, we are unable to allow a student in the classroom without an instructor present. Many times, classes run back-to-back and there is not available space for warm up.
As often as possible we let students know ahead of time if a substitute instructor has been arranged. Substitutions may occur last minute and, unfortunately, we are not able to update this information online. Upon check-in at the front desk, we will let you know of any last-minute changes. If you choose to take the class, you will be charged. No refunds will be given once the class has started due to instructor changes.
Classes must consistently have an average of four students. Every semester, classes are evaluated on their attendance within the first full month of sessions. Colorado Ballet Academy reserves the right to cancel any class that is not meeting the minimum required number of students to run the class.
