Youth America Grand Prix
& Denver Ballet Guild

Welcome to Colorado Ballet Academy’s Youth America Grand Prix program! Students build their technical and artistic skills as they learn the importance of teamwork, camaraderie and work ethic while they rehearse and prepare ensembles for the Regional and Finals competitions. Students who choose to compete with classical and contemporary solos, duets, and trios benefit from individual coaching sessions. 

Details 
Audition Date: August 23, 2025 
Time: 4:00-5:30pm 
Audition Fee: $30 
Eligibility: Students in Level 3+ and ages 9+ by January 1, 2026 

Orientation 
Orientation Date: Thursday, August 21, 2025 from 7:00-8:00pm 

Learn more about CBA’s YAGP program by attending the informational meeting on August 21st at 7:00pm. This meeting with be in-person as well as virtual. Students who are participating in the workshop can join the meeting in person at 7:30pm. 

Audition 
Audition Date: August 23, 2025 
4:00-4:30pm Pre-Competitive Division (Ages 9-11) 
4:30-5:00pm Junior Division (Ages 12-14) 
5:00-5:30pm Senior Division (Ages 15-20)

About Youth America Grand Prix

 

Youth America Grand Prix has named Colorado Ballet Academy the region's Outstanding School since 2019! This is a testament to the high caliber training students receive at the Colorado Ballet Academy. In addition, Colorado Ballet Academy has continuously been awarded top placements in the Pas de Deux and Soloist categories. Thank you to all our dedicated teachers, students, and families who contributed to this recognition. It is always a team effort! 

Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP)?is the world’s largest student ballet scholarship audition. YAGP is a New York-based 501(C)(3) non-profit dance education organization with a MISSION to support and develop world-class dancers, ages 9-19, of all economic, ethnic, and geographic backgrounds by providing scholarship auditions, performance and education opportunities, and by serving as a global network of dance, connecting students, teachers, schools, dance companies, dancers, and the audience.  

It fulfills its mission through scholarship auditions, master classes, alumni services, educational and outreach activities, performances, and films.  

Now in its 26th Season, YAGP reaches over 15,000 dance students annually by holding workshops, scholarship auditions, master classes and auditions in 30+ U.S cities and at 15+ international locations worldwide. Each season culminates in the week-long Season Finals, where more than 1,500 of the world's most promising dancers receive in-depth mentoring and greater scholarship, professional, and performance opportunities. The Season Finals closing night Gala, "Stars of Today Meet the Stars of Tomorrow," features the world’s most exciting young dance talent alongside the stars of today's leading dance companies. 

In 26 years of operation, YAGP has reached more than 250,000 talented young dancers worldwide with its workshops, scholarship auditions and master classes around the globe. More than $5 million has been awarded at YAGP in scholarships to the world's leading dance schools. As a result, more than 500 YAGP alumni are now dancing with 100 companies around the world, including American Ballet Theatre, New York City Ballet, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Paris Opera Ballet, The Royal Ballet, Stuttgart Ballet, Dutch National Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Washington Ballet, and many others.

About Denver Ballet Guild Young Dancer Competition

Membership with the Denver Ballet Guild helps to create wonderful opportunities within the Denver community.

Showcase of Dance and In-School Programs reach more than 7,500 children, exposing many to the joy of a live dance performance for the first time in their lives.

Community Enrichment funds the creative efforts of eight Colorado dance companies with generous grants totaling $85,000.

Young Dancers Competition awards between $21,500-$27,500 to ballet students from across the state to further their dance education.

The Denver Ballet Guild is a 100% volunteer-driven organization with more than 500 members working actively in the community to promote the dance arts through fundraisers and member programs.
