Summer Programs

The Academy of Colorado Ballet’s Summer Intensive Program will run June 20 through July 15, 2011. Students participate in 7+ hours of dance instruction and rehearsal each day. Classes include ballet, modern, jazz, pilates and character.

The Program culminates in a theater performance of choreography staged upon the students by Colorado Ballet's faculty.

Housing (with meals) is available for visiting students at Campus Village Apartments, a dormitory complex approx. 1.5 miles from the Academy. Supervision is provided to students under age 18. Weekend excursions are planned for visiting students. Daily transportation to and from the Academy is included in the dormitory cost.

The Program is for students who have reached a high-intermediate level of dance training. Ladies must have completed one year of focused pointe training. In the past, positions in the Studio Company of the Colorado Ballet have been filled by advanced level students in the Summer Intensive, which serves as an extended audition period.

Dancers unable to attend any of the auditions may submit a DVD audition. DVD must contain barre and center work, as well as pointe work for ladies. The DVD audition fee is also $20. DVD’s may be sent to:

The Summer Intensive Program costs are:

Summer Intensive Program Tuition- $1500

Dormitory Room & Board- $2200
Scholarships are available and are awarded at the time of audition. Audition results are sent to students approx. one week after each audition. Students must then submit registration material and a non-refundable deposit to hold a place in the Program. Program enrollment is limited to ensure quality, therefore, early registration is recommended.
