DENVER – Colorado Ballet will host the event “An Evening with Colorado Ballet Honoring Mary Lou Blackledge-Kortz and Don Kortz” on Saturday, October 6, at 5:30 p.m. in the Ellie Caulkins Opera House.
This special event will start with cocktails and dinner at 5:30 p.m. in the Chambers Grant Salon. At 7:30 p.m., guests will go upstairs to attend the performance The Sleeping Beauty.
Blackledge-Kortz joined the board of trustees of Colorado Ballet in 2004. She has served on the Executive Committee and as Vice President for Board Development. In addition to her work on the board, she also painted and developed a body of work dedicated to the art of ballet. According to Blackledge-Kortz, “The human form is a fascinating subject for a painter; but the dancer’s form elevates human beauty into pure drama.”
Kortz served as the first president and CEO of Rose Community Foundation. He has also served as chairman of numerous boards including: Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, Metro Chamber of Commerce, Children’s Hospital, Rose Medical Center, and Colorado Concern.
Tickets to this event are $250 per person. To RSVP, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call 303-339-1610. For more information, contact Ruthie Hubka, Colorado Ballet Development Associate, at 303-339-1618.
