Tickets Go on Sale Sunday for Colorado Ballet's 2018/2019 Season

DENVER, CO (July 13, 2018) – Single tickets go on sale Sunday, July 15 for Colorado Ballet’s 2018/2019 season, featuring five productions at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House: Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, The Wizard of Oz, Tour de Force and Ballet MasterWorks.

Colorado Ballet opens the season with the ever iconic classical ballet Sleeping Beauty, October 5-14, 2018 at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Sleeping Beauty features choreography by Marius Petipa and music by Tchaikovsky, performed live by the Colorado Ballet Orchestra. This ballet will entertain and mesmerize, with dreamy fairies and a beautiful princess depicted through the artistry of Colorado Ballet’s dancers.

The season continues with the holiday classic The Nutcracker, November 24 - December 24, 2018 at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. The 58th annual production features timeless choreography paired with Tchaikovsky’s extraordinary arrangement performed live by the Colorado Ballet Orchestra. In addition to being the largest production of The Nutcracker in the state, Colorado Ballet’s 2016 production was named the best-loved Nutcracker in the U.S. in the 10th Annual Goldstar National Nutcracker Award contest.

In the winter, Colorado Ballet will premiere a brand new ballet, The Wizard of Oz, created by the same artistic team that brought you ALICE (in wonderland). Performances will take place February 1-10, 2019 at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Follow the yellow brick road to this exciting premiere showcasing new sets, costumes and special effects. This magical ballet features choreography by Septime Webre and music by Matthew Pierce, performed live by the Colorado Ballet Orchestra.

In an all-new innovative collaboration, Colorado Ballet brings you Tour de Force, March 8-10, 2019 at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House, starring dancers from Denver’s three prominent dance companies all sharing one stage – Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, Wonderbound and Colorado Ballet. The program will feature brand new works choreographed by Cleo Parker Robinson and Wonderbound’s Artistic Director Garrett Ammon especially for this production.

The season will close with Ballet MasterWorks, April 5-14, 2019 at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. This program will feature a performance of Carmina Burana for the first time in nearly 20 years, with choreography by the acclaimed Fernand Nault, along with Carl Orff’s evocative and powerful music performed live by the Colorado Ballet Orchestra and chorus.

For the third consecutive season, Colorado Ballet will present two Attitude on Santa Fe performances in the Black Box Theater at the Armstrong Center for Dance on September 14 and 15, 2018. Attitude on Santa Fe features original works choreographed and performed by Colorado Ballet dancers. Additional information about these performances will be available on Colorado Ballet’s website soon.
