The Be
Beautiful, Be Yourself (BBBY) Dance
Program, founded in 2010, is led by tenured teaching artists who have been with the program since its start. The program offers dance classes for students ages 5-18 with Down syndrome, intellectual or developmental disabilities, helping them build kinesthetic and
cognitive skills through creative movement, rhythm, and basic ballet technique.
Classes focus on physical stamina, body awareness, following directions, and verbalization skills, while fostering social and emotional growth and a lifelong love of
dance.
Each year, two BBBY dancers from Ballet II are selected to perform in the company’s
production of The Nutcracker.
These dancers rehearse alongside company members, participate in a dress
rehearsal, and perform for one night, providing an inclusive stage experience.

Note: Max class capacity is 10 students.
