For over 15 years, Colorado Ballet has partnered with Warren Village to provide free creative movement classes. The Warren Village Program is a partnership between Warren Village's Greta Horwitz Learning Center and Colorado Ballet's Education and Community Engagement Department.
Warren Village helps motivated low-income, previously homeless single parent families move from public assistance to personal and economic self-sufficiency through subsidized housing, on-site nationally accredited child care, intensive case management, education guidance and career development.
The dance program consists of two early childhood education classes, ages 3 to 4 and ages 4 to 5. The children learn creative movement and focus on 12 different dance concepts. For example, students learn about the concept of size by dancing big or small like giants or elves, or they may learn about the dance concept of relationships between themselves and objects by going through an obstacle course!
Along with learning locomotor movements and basic ballet steps, the students also learn the etiquette of attending a dance class, refine gross motor skills, express themselves through movement, work on problem solving and work together to improve social and emotional skills.

The Five by Five Program by the Denver Office of Children’s Affairs is designed to offer Head Start families opportunities to give their children five cultural experiences by the age of five.
Students will learn about a variety of dance concepts, such as, size, balance, rhythm, levels, shapes, and energy. The class will develop spatial awareness, problem solving, and strengthening the body and brain.
