Registration for Children's Division students opens november 18, 2024

Colorado Ballet Academy students receive professional classical ballet training and mentorship from our faculty members that extends beyond the dance studio. The Academy shapes students into well-rounded, dynamic dancers by empowering our students to express themselves while cultivating their technique and musicality freely and creatively. Our faculty is passionate about sharing the beautiful experience of this art form with our students and creating a unique space that transforms students into ballet artists.

Spring Semester: January 22, 2025 – May 10, 2025

Ages 2.5-3

Inspire your child’s love for movement and music with this engaging and imaginative ballet class for our tiny tots. In a warm and supportive environment, toddlers enhance their coordination, motor skills, musicality, and balance through fun and creative activities. Each semester features exciting themes that bring energy and animation to every session, making it a fun and enriching experience for these tiny dancing toddlers.

creative dance I

Spring Semester: January 22, 2025 – May 10, 2025

Ages 3-4 

Our young aspiring dancers will be introduced to body and spatial awareness and the development of imagination through movement and musicality. Students begin identifying basic forms of movement through dance games, songs, music, and rhythmical patterns. Each semester will focus on an exciting theme that brings creativity and animation into the classroom, resulting in a fun and inspiring experience. Students will end each semester in high spirits with a heartwarming performance either in-studio or in our own Black Box Theater.

Ages 4-5 

Students continue their development by identifying basic forms of movement through imaginative games, songs, music, and rhythmical patterns at an age-appropriate level while continuing to foster independence. Students learn concepts of body and spatial awareness, use of energy in movement, taking direction from their instructor and taking turns with peers. Each semester will focus on an exciting theme that brings creativity and animation into the classroom, resulting in a fun and inspiring experience. Students will end each semester in high spirits with a heartwarming performance either in-studio or in our own Black Box Theater.

Students are introduced to beginning concepts of ballet technique including turn out, coordinating upper body and lower body movements, spatial awareness, and class etiquette. Students continue to use their imagination to foster artistry as they focus on musicality and increase their vocabulary. Each semester will focus on an exciting theme that brings creativity and animation into the classroom, resulting in a fun and inspiring experience. Students will end each semester in high spirits with a heartwarming performance either in-studio or in our own Black Box Theater.

PRE-BALLET II - semester classes

Ages 6-7 

Pre-Ballet 2 is the bridge between the creative format for young children and the formal structure of classical ballet training. Young dancers continue to increase their understanding of ballet concepts, coordination, musicality, and imaginative artistry in an encouraging environment. Beginning with classical ballet fundamentals, classroom etiquette and self-discipline are introduced in preparation for Level 1. Students will end each semester in high spirits with a heartwarming performance either in-studio or in our own Black Box Theater.

Ages 6+ 

Welcome to our Male Agility dance class, specially designed to introduce young students to ballet through an athletic and sport style approach! Classes are tailored to accommodate the specific needs and interests of young males, providing activities that engage their natural energy and enthusiasm. This fun, energetic class focuses on developing agility, coordination, and confidence. Using age appropriate techniques, children work to build strength, flexibility, rhythm, artistry, use of space, and proper use of the body for better physical health. Male Agility dance class fosters a positive attitude towards exercise and encourages lifelong habits of health and wellness, while learning to work with others and support and care for each other. Perfect for students with boundless energy, this class is all about having fun while developing essential skills and physicality in an encouraging and supportive environment.
